The course will provide didactic, video, and case-based hands-on skills labs dealing with medical and airway emergencies possible in the dental and sedation settings. Participants will review, practice, and demonstrate proficiency in managing emergencies including, but not limited to, respiratory distress and failure, using bag mask, oral and nasal airways, perilaryngeal devices, as well as intubation and cricothyrotomy. Recognizing and treating emergencies such as cardiac events, stroke, syncope, seizures, allergic reactions, and laryngospasm will be reviewed and practiced.
This course meets the requirements for the Florida Board of Dentistry and AAOMS for office management and simulation has been endorsed as an equivalent program to the AAOMS National Simulation Program. Completion of this course fulfills the necessary simulation for AAOMS membership. Verification of compliance of successful anesthesia simulation training will be through the OAE program.
Registration is separate from the FSOMS conference. There are only 24 spots for each Airways class. Space is limited. You only need to sign up for one either in the AM or PM.
